March 20th 2017 was full of surprises! Have you ever had one of those days where everything just goes off track yet somehow ends up more perfectly than you could have ever imagined? That was exactly the chain of events leading up to this amazing SURPRISE engagement session.
Jesse and Nicole were not even supposed to be on the books for this drizzly Monday afternoon, fellow photographer Sarah Gonia and I were heading to Oak Harbor when we had a last minute cancellation. This adorable duo had been trying schedule time for a couples session so I called to see if they were available last minute. After some serious rescheduling on their part they were able to make it work. We decided on Flaming Geyser state park to match their PNW vibe. 45 minutes away we raced towards the location to try and capture the last bit of light for the day. 5 minutes from our location we came a crossed a washed out road! No way to pass, no way to get around. PANIC …We had limited cell service due to the rural location. We had no way to even contact Jesse & Nicole to tell them we had to find a new location. Blessed again, we passed them turning around and were able to flag them down. We resigned ourselves to shoot at a wooded meadow next to the Green River. It looked like a nothing local, but once we started to explore…OH MAN WHAT A JEWEL. 
The beautiful duo were so relaxed and go with the flow. Their love was just palpable. They are childhood friends and you can tell their connection runs deeper than superficial attraction.
Jesse shocked everyone when he got down on one knee and pull the most gorgeous engagement ring out of his coat pocket. I couldn’t hear the words spoken, but Nicole’s face said it all.
These two are meant for each other. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love. Words can not express my joy in being able to share and capture this magical intimate moment. CONGRATULATIONS JESSE & NICOLE!!
